~ Mission ~

Project Graduation is the non-profit effort of WHS Senior students and parents to raise money for a post-graduation party that is drug/alcohol free. Project Graduation meets every second Wednesday in the WHS library at 7PM. Students attending these Project Graduation meetings will gain 2 points per meeting. In order to be eligible to win prizes during the Project Graduation party, each student is responsible for earning 100 points by the end of the year. Those with the most points will be eligible for the most expensive prizes, so 100 is really just a starting point to insure you will win something! Points are earned through both student and parent participation. Each hour worked by a student garners 5 points, each hour worked by a parent only 1 point. During numerous fundraisers throughout the school year the Wimberley High School Class of 2007 will earn money for their lock in party that they will be bussed to immediately after graduation.

Seniors that do not participate in fundraising activities are still encouraged to attend Project Graduation, but they must pay the same entrance fee that guests will pay.  All Project Graduation guests and those seniors who have chosen not to fundraise but want to attend will pay a $30.00 fee per person.  Each graduate may bring up to 2 guests each.  Guest forms can be picked up in Ms. Adams' office (attendance office).

UPDATE: As a Project Graduation fundraiser, the Senior girls will compete against the underclassmen of the high school in a Powder Puff Football game held at the Texan Football field on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 7:00 pm. As an additional attraction we will host a Punt, Pass and Kick contest at half time.   The entrants will be split up in groups by grade:  1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and an open age group, (in case adults want to participate).  They will compete from both ends of the field and all participants will be announced by Coach Smith who is also announcing the game.  The winners of each group will be rewarded with a football signed by the Texan football team.  (Ricky Beaty is heading this project and is getting 12 seniors to help measure and record.  He will use the boys already signed up to coach and then pull from others interested.  Coach Nelms is assisting him with the planning.)

Senior Toilet: Student take the decorated 2007 toilet to various community members and offer to remove it from the premises for a donation. One of Project Graduation's most profitable fundraisers, it continues throughout the year and is a fun, simple way for students to acquire points. Anyone that wants to volunteer to take the toilet around and earn points should contact Stu Wheat or email whsprojectgraduation07@yahoo.com.
