Anonymous Donor - March 2008
As a taxpayer in the Wimberley Valley, I would like to offer, for at least the next several years, paying for the cleaners the bus drivers pay for on their own to keep the germs down on their school buses and I believe that is the Lysol disinfectant and Windex cleaner. We are coming close to the cold season and no one cares for that. I propose to purchase a case of Windex and Lysol, with your agreement, to be stored somewhere in the bus barn. This offer is exclusive to all buses serving Wimberley Valley Elementary, Intermediate and Junior/Senior High Schools. Brookshire Brothers has already been kind enough to offer me a fair price for the two cleaners and I thank them for that.
Sincerely Yours, (Donor requests to remain anonymous)

Bond 2007: “Hats Off to You!”
The WISD Bond Proposal #1 and Proposal #2 passed thanks to the community effort which was a culmination of hard work, tireless dedication, clear communication, and innovative thinking. WISD would like to thank all the students, parents, and community members who spent their time and effort working for the bond passage. So, hats off to you all!
WISD would like to honor those who donate to enhance the education for the children of Wimberley. Donations are made from all segments of the community. Donations come in all forms including time for volunteering, time to serve on committees, time to raise funds as well as financial donations. Some donate just to say thanks to WISD for the commitment, dedication, and work the staff of the district provides to the community. We appreciate all contributions and here are our heartfelt thanks.
Strategic Planning Committee
The WISD Strategic Plan, 2007-2013 was developed in the Spring of 2007, the product of a long planning process involving considerable research along with staff and community input. The comprehensive long-range plan provides direction for the district’s education programs and support structures and promotes increased community involvement in the education process.
The process included an analysis of the internal and external factors affecting district success. A new district mission, vision, and strategic goals were developed by the Strategic Planning Committee. The Strategic Plan serves as a high-level guidance document and guides budgetary and other important district decisions. The objectives identified in the Strategic Plan will be closely aligned with the District Improvement Plan and Campus Improvement Plans to provide more detail and specific action steps.
WISD would like to thank the staff and community members who participated in the planning process. Each committee member provided input, time, and effort to reach consensus to form the mission, vision, and goals which will guide the district for the next five years. WISD acknowledges the commitment each member made and the work is greatly appreciated.
